A Peek at the Week

school:
We have been working hard on the letter Nn.  We have been listening to Nn in  every part of the word--beginning, middle and end.  We have written capital and lowercase N.  We reviewed  patterning while talking about necklaces.  We even made necklaces out of cereal using a pattern.

From The Teacher's Desk
teacher's desk:
Report cards will also be coming home in a couple of weeks.  The children are doing a wonderful job.  I am amazed at how well they are all doing.  They are blending words and writing words.  This is a huge accomplishment.
Watching kindergartners grow is a most rewarding experience.  It is rewarding for the kindergartners but even more rewarding for me.
I≠m looking forward to working with you the rest of the year as we help your child experience all the joys of learning.

We discussed nests
and talked about why birds make them.  We learned that the female bird does most of the work building the nest.  The nest is made of straw, twigs and sometimes, rags, string and paper.  It is held together with mud and lined with dry grass.  Once the baby birds are born, both parents feed them and keep them warm until they are able to fly.
